About Us
Our Mission
The WSWC is the statewide trade association representing the distribution tier of the alcohol beverage industry. Our mission is to protect consumers, support local retailers, maintain industry transparency, and promote responsible alcohol distribution through effective advocacy, education, and compliance.
Who We Are
WSWC is composed of Connecticut’s licensed wine and spirits wholesalers: businesses responsible for ensuring that products move safely, legally, and efficiently from suppliers to retailers across the state.
As a key component of the three-tier system, our members uphold strict regulatory standards, maintain product quality, support responsible consumption programs, and strengthen the economic vitality of Connecticut communities.
Our Impact
Connecticut’s wine and spirits wholesalers make a significant contribution to the state’s economy.
Each year, the WSWC generates:
Over $60 million in alcohol excise taxes
More than $60 million in wages
Over $35 million in additional state and local taxes
The wholesale tier supports
over half a billion dollars
in annual economic impact across Connecticut.

Actively engaged in state government relations, WSWC advocates for the independence and interests of its members while extending its influence at the federal level through its partnership with the Wine and Spirits Association of America.
Because of the unique nature of alcohol distribution, the association also promotes moderate consumption and works to prevent underage access. Alongside these efforts, WSWC represents its members on fundamental small-business matters, including taxation and regulatory policy.
